Which Shipment Type Should I Choose? Single or Bulk Shipment?

Buyandship has two shipment types: Single Shipment and Bulk Shipment. Each type has its own advantages and you need to choose the shipment type when declaring your parcels. But no matter which shipment type you choose at the end, all parcels that arrive at our overseas warehouse will be arranged to ship back to Hong Kong first.

Single Shipment

If you only ship one parcel, you are recommended to choose “Single Shipment”.

Advantage: Quick! Once the parcel arrived at Hong Kong warehouse, it will be directly sent to the selected Buyandship Redemption Center.

Bulk Shipment

If you have more than one parcel or you want to save money, Bulk Shipment is perfect for you! All your parcels from different overseas warehouses will be shipped back to Hong Kong, then be consolidated and shipped to your selected pick-up location.

Advantage: The delivery fee will be calculated based on the total chargeable weight of all selected parcels. It should be cheaper than Single Shipment if you have more than one parcels.

Single Shipment

“Single Shipment” means your parcels will be directly sent to your selected redemption centre upon arrival at Hong Kong warehouse. After you receive the email notification of parcel pick up, you can go and take it!

Single shipment can only choose to pick up at Buyandship redemption centres or local delivery. You will find out when you declare your parcels. Don’t worry if you can’t select delivery methods other than Buyandship Redemption Centres. It is normal!

The delivery fee of “Single Shipment” will be calculated based on the total chargeable weight of shipment arrived on the same day, which means you can’t combine the weight of different parcels and have to pay for each parcel separately. However, if two parcels arrive at the overseas warehouse on the same day, the system will automatically generate the same forwarding order for the two shipments, and the delivery fee will be calculated together. Does it sound complicated? Here is an example.

If two parcels all belong to shipment batch 1, the delivery fee will be calculated based on the total chargeable weight.

Parcel A Parcel B Weight Delivery Fee

1.4 lb

1.4 lb

1.4 lb + 1.4 lb = 2.8 lb
Total Chargeable Weight = 3 lb

3 lb x HK$24 = HK$72

If parcel A belongs to shipment batch 1, and parcel B belongs to shipment batch 2, the delivery fee of two parcels will be calculated separately.

Parcel A Delivery Fee Parcel B Delivery Fee

1.4 lb
Chargeable weight = 2 lb

2 lb x HK$24 = HK$48

1.4 lb
Chargeable weight = 2 lb

2 lb x HK$24 = HK$48

As the parcels will be arranged to check out automatically once they arrived at overseas warehouse, you can’t decide which parcels to be shipped in the same batch. Therefore, we suggest you to choose “Bulk Shipment” if you have more than one parcels and want to pay the delivery fee based on the weight of all parcels.

If you select “Single Shipment”, the parcel will be directly sent to your selected Buyandship Redemption Center once it arrived at Hong Kong warehouse. This shipment type is faster as you don’t need to waste time to wait for all parcels to arrive at Hong Kong and then consolidate them into one shipment.

Bulk Shipment

You can consolidate your parcels if you choose Bulk Shipment. All parcels shipped from different Buyandship overseas warehouses can be consolidated into one shipment and the delivery fee will be calculated together ! You just have to choose “Bulk Shipment” as your shipment type when declaring your parcels. You can decide the pick-up location later.

You can consolidate up to 15 parcels at the same time, but keep in mind that parcels can only be stored at our Hong Kong warehouse free for 21 days, and afterwards there will be an overdue storage fee. After you complete selecting parcels for consolidation, they will be delivered to the pick up location you selected.

The delivery fee of “Bulk Shipment” will be calculated based on the total chargeable weight of all shipments.

Parcel A Parcel B Parcel C Weight Delivery Fee

1.6 lb

1.4 lb

5.8 lb

1.6 lb + 1.4 lb + 5.8 lb = 8.8 lb
Total Chargeable Weight = 9 lb

9 lb x HK$24 = HK$216

If you select “Bulk Shipment”, the parcels will not be sent out unless you make the parcel consolidation instruction. Therefore, remember to consolidate your parcels when they arrive at Hong Kong warehouse. We will send an email to notify you at that time.

I only have one parcel but want to pick up at Circle K, which shipment type should I use? As “Single Shipment” can only choose to pick up at Buyandship Redemption Centres or local delivery, you have to select “Bulk Shipment” if you want to pick up at Circle K or other pick up locations. It doesn’t matter even you only have one parcel !

These two shipment types have their own advantages, and they are also popular among our users. You can choose the shipment type that is most suitable for you.
